Privacy Policy

Pre-launch version. We may update this before Striv FC launches.
The short version
- Striv FC is a soccer training app with an AI coach, for players 16 and over.
- We collect what we need to build your training and run the app: your email, your birth month and year, your player details, and what you train.
- We do not sell your information, show you ads, or track you across other apps or websites. We do not collect your location.
- Some of your information is sent to Anthropic, the company whose AI builds your sessions and checks posts before they are shown. We send only what is needed, and never your name or your exact age.
- Players 16 and 17 can only connect with other 16 and 17 year olds. Adults can never see a minor’s posts.
- You can delete your account, and almost everything with it, from inside the app at any time.
1. What we collect, and why
When you sign up
Your player details
Your level, years playing, positions, stronger foot and weak-foot rating, how you rate your own skills, your goal and timeline, the skills you want to work on, your season, your weekly schedule (practice, game, rest days), how long you want to train, and the equipment and space you have.
Why: to build sessions that fit you. Some of it is sent to the AI coach; see section 3 for exactly what.
An injuries note, if you write one
A short free-text note about any injury. This is health information, and we treat it carefully:
- It is used only to keep your sessions safe (for example, to keep load off a sore ankle).
- It is sent to the AI coach with each session build, because the safety rules need it.
- It is never shown to any other player.
- You can clear it at any time in Edit profile.
Your training
The sessions the coach builds for you, which drills you finished, how each set felt, scores you enter for timed tests, your personal bests, your streak and freezes, and your weekly points.
Why: to run your sessions, track your progress, and adapt future sessions (a drill you found too easy gets harder).
If you choose a username and a bio
A username, so other players can see you on division boards and, if you add friends, by your friends. A short bio on your own profile, which only you can see. Both are checked automatically for contact details, links, other apps, swearing and your own last name before they are saved.
Videos you save (private clips)
Training clips you record or choose. They are private: nobody else can see them, not even friends. Note that a video from your phone’s library may contain the place it was recorded in its file information. Because clips are private, we store them as they are.
Friends
Your friend code, the friend requests you send and get, your friends, the players you block and mute, and any reports you make.
The Feed
Posts you make (a card of a finished training session, with an optional caption; adults can also post text), replies (adults only), and your reactions. See section 4 for who can see what.
Every post, caption and reply is checked before anyone else sees it: first against our own word and link filter, then by an AI (section 3). We keep a record of each check (the result and the category, such as “spam” or “threat”), and the counts of AI “tokens” each check used, which is how we track cost. We do not keep the AI’s reasoning.
Reports and moderation
When you report a player, a post or a reply, we keep the report: the reason, any note you write, and who made it and who it is about. The person you report is never told who reported them, or that anyone did.
For a report that someone is putting a child at risk, or of violence or threats, we also keep a copy of the reported words with the report, together with who wrote them, for safety reviews and reports to the authorities. They are kept for up to 365 days, even if the post is deleted (section 7).
When something serious is reported or held (a child at risk, self-harm, or a threat), our moderation team gets an alert. The alert contains only an internal reference number and the reason. It contains no names, usernames or post text.
Your subscription
Whether you have Striv Pro, a trial, or neither, and when it ends. Payment is handled by Apple (or Google). We never see or store your card details.
Kept on your phone
To make the app work without a connection and pick up where you left off: the session you are in the middle of, an unfinished onboarding, your subscription status, your sign-in, and small preferences (for example, whether “Post to Friends” is on). Deleting your account clears all of it.
What we do not collect
Your location. Your contacts. Your photos, other than clips you choose to save. Your full date of birth. Advertising identifiers. We do not use cookies or tracking in the app.
2. How we use it
- To build and run your training sessions.
- To show your progress, streak, points and division.
- To run the friends and feed features.
- To keep players safe: checking posts before they appear, handling reports, and enforcing the age rules.
- To keep the service working and secure (for example, limits on how often you can post, to stop spam).
- To answer you when you contact us.
We do not use your information for advertising. We do not use it to train AI models.
3. Who we share it with
We share information only with companies that run parts of Striv FC for us, and only what each one needs. We do not sell or rent your information to anyone.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone from serious harm, or as described in section 8 (child safety). If Striv FC is ever sold or merged, your information would move with it, under this policy, and we would tell you first.
4. What other players can see
Division boards: your username, position and weekly points. Players 16 and 17 and adults are on separate boards and never see each other.
Friends: a friend sees your username, position, weekly points and current streak, and your Feed posts. A friend also sees whether you have trained today (a yes or no for the day, never the time) and how many sessions you have finished this week, in the friends strip and the weekly recap. Never your name, age, birth month or year, bio, injuries, email, or anything else. You only become friends by accepting a request made with your friend code. Nobody can search for you.
The Feed:
- If you are 16 or 17, your posts are seen only by your accepted friends who are also 16 or 17. Never by an adult. You never see public posts.
- If you are 18 or over, you choose for each post: your friends, or everyone 18 and over.
- A training post shows the session’s date, never the time, and never where you trained.
- Reactions show as counts, never who reacted.
Your private clips: nobody.
5. Players 16 and 17
Striv FC is for players 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and if we learn that we have, we delete it. Sign-up is blocked below 16, in the app and on our servers. If you think someone under 16 is using Striv FC, contact us.
Many of our players are 16 or 17, so:
- Players 16 and 17 can only connect with other 16 and 17 year olds, and their posts are never shown to adults. This is enforced on our servers, not just in the app.
- Your age group changes on the first day of the month after your 18th birth month.
- Birth month and year cannot be changed in the app, so a player cannot move themselves into a different age group.
- Everything a player writes for others to see is checked before it appears.
Parents and guardians can contact us at info@strivfc.com about their child’s account, including to ask us to delete it.
6. Your choices and rights
- See and change your details: in the app (Edit profile). Your birth month and year can only be corrected by contacting us.
- Delete your account: in the app (Settings → Delete account). Your information is removed from the app straight away, and this cannot be undone. See section 7 for what is kept.
- Delete individual things: your posts, replies and clips, at any time.
- Ask for a copy of your information: contact us at info@strivfc.com.
- Turn features off: mute or block players, turn off “Post to Friends”, turn off replies on your posts.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights (for example under California or EU law).
7. How long we keep it
As long as you have an account. When you delete it, we delete:
your profile, username, bio and player card; every session, drill log, score and personal best; your streak, points and division standing; your friends, friend code, requests, blocks and mutes; every post, reply and reaction you made, and every reply on your posts; every clip you saved; and everything kept on your phone.
What we keep after you delete your account, and why:
- Reports you made, or that were made about you, so we can keep the app safe. Who made the report and who it was about are removed: nothing in the report identifies you.
- For reports of a child at risk or of violence or threats: the reported words are kept with the report, together with who wrote them, for safety reviews and reports to the authorities, for up to 365 days from the report. If the person who wrote them deletes their account, the link to their account is removed, but the words stay with the report until the 365 days are up. They are deleted automatically after that.
- Moderation alert records: an internal reference number and a reason code, with no personal information.
- If we report material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), we keep the reported content and related account information as the law requires, even if the account is deleted.
- Backups: deleted information is removed from the app straight away, but may remain in our backups for a short period before being overwritten.
Some information is kept for a short time on its own: the record of how often you posted or reported (to apply limits) is deleted after 30 days.
If you start signing up and never finish (you get a sign-in code but never make a player card), the account, which holds only your email address, is deleted automatically after 7 days.
8. Child safety
We check posts before they are shown, hide content that is reported as putting a child at risk straight away, and review it. Where we find apparent child sexual abuse material, we report it to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires, and may share information with law enforcement.
9. Security
Your information is encrypted when it travels between your phone and our servers. On our servers, every player can only reach their own information, and everything other players can see goes through checks that enforce the age rules. Our staff access is limited to what is needed to run and moderate the service. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.
10. This website
Analytics
To understand which pages help and where visitors come from, this website uses its own cookie-free analytics. For each page view or form step we record the page address (without anything after the “?”), the type of event, the domain of the site that linked you here, any campaign tags in the link (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign), whether you are on a mobile or desktop device, your country, and a random ID kept in your browser tab’s session storage that is deleted when you close the tab. We do not store your IP address, your full browser details or anything that identifies you, and we do not set tracking cookies. We also use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights from our hosting provider, Vercel, which count visits and measure page speed in aggregate without cookies.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist, we collect your email address, whether you are a player or a parent, a player’s confirmation that they are 16 or older, and, if you choose to add them, your position and your club or team. We also save which sign-up form you used, the site that linked you here and any campaign tags in the link.
Why: to email you when Striv FC launches, and to see which channels bring people to the waitlist. We do not sell it or use it for advertising, and it is never shown to anyone outside our team.
Where it is stored: in our database at Supabase (section 3). It cannot be read through the public website; only our team can see it.
Unsubscribing or being removed: email info@strivfc.com from the address you signed up with, and we will take you off the waitlist and delete your sign-up.
11. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app before they apply.
